
East-Merrill United names Brian Bednarczyk new head hockey coach
The East-Merrill United Bluejacks, the hockey co-op of Wausau East, Merrill and Newman Catholic has a new head coach. Per a release by the Wausau School District, Brian Bednarczyk is the new head coach of the Bluejacks. Bennarczyk succeeds Nate Pagel in the position.
Bednarczyk is a Rothschild native and played high school hockey at D.C. Everest as a 4-year varsity performer for the Evergreens. Following his high school career, Bednarczyk went on to play two years of junior hockey for Great Falls Americans (Jr. A) and the Peoria Mustangs (Jr. B) before playing NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin – Stout. After college, he played for the Mosinee Papermakers for 16 years.
The Bluejacks finished with a 9-16 overall record this past season and 2-8 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
