Packers 2025-2026 schedule released

WISCONSIN (CIVIC MEDIA) – The National Football League announced the preseason and regular season schedules for all of its member teams on Wednesday, May 14.

The Packers will not be competing internationally, but the team will be playing on Thanksgiving for the third year in a row. Green Bay will play in Detroit on Thanksgiving for the second time in the previous three years.

They open the season with back-to-back home games against Detroit on September 7 and Washington on September 11.

Tritz named Rapids Wrestling head coach

Following the retirement of long-time coach Scott Benitz, the Wisconsin Rapids Wrestling team has a new leader atop the program.

Kevin Tritz was named the next coach of the 21-time state champion program.

Tritz is a 2006 graduate of Lincoln High School, and he compiled quite the list of accomplishments during his time as a student.

Tritz is a four-time state medalist, including back-to-back state titles as a junior and senior, while finishing as a runner-up as a sophomore. He placed sixth as a freshman and was a member of four straight state championship teams from 2003 to 2006.

He held an 188-11 record during his time in a Rapids singlet, highlighted by a perfect 44-0 record his senior year, being just one of 16 Rapids’ wrestlers to have an undefeated season.

Tritz was also a four-time Wisconsin Valley Conference champion and a four-time Sectional champion. He leads the program in career takedowns with 1,140, career technical falls with 41, single season takedowns with 340, and single season technical falls with 19.

Barnes steps down

The Wisconsin Rapids Gymnastics team will be searching for a new coach after Kylie Barnes resigned from the position.

Barnes had just completed her third year as head coach and saw the program compete at the Division 2 level for the first time, including sending a gymnast to the WIAA State Meet.

The Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln athletic department is currently accepting applications for the opening.
