High End EF-0 Tornado Confirmed In Mattoon, Shawano County

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WGBW) – A tornado tore a path through Mattoon Monday night, damage surveyed by the National Weather Service says winds hit 80mph. 

The NWS Green Bay conducted a survey of the damage from the tornado on Tuesday in the Town of Mattoon. They say peak wind gusts reached 80mph, marking it a high end EF0 on the enhanced Fujita scale.

It was on the ground for 6.25 miles and spanned 65 yards wide.

No fatalities or injuries were reported.
