Wausau East football coach Tyler Kramer named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week
Lumberjacks' coach has led team to the playoffs for the first time since 2012 and will host a playoff game for the first time in 17 years on Friday.
The Green Bay Packers have announced that Wausau East football head coach Tyler Kramer as the Packers’ High School Coach of the Week.
This season the Lumberjacks are 6-3 overall and finished in a second place tie in the Great Northern Conference at 5-2 to earn the program it’s first playoff berth since 2012. Friday the Lumberjacks will also host their first playoff game since 2007 when they host Fox Valley Lutheran in a Division 3 Level 1 game at Thom Field.
It’s the second season Kramer has been the varsity coach at East. That came after the program did not field an 11-player varsity squad for two years due to lack of players. Last season East returned to varsity competition with a 2-7 record and 1-6 in the Valley Football Association.
Kramer is a 2017 graduate of Wausau East and played football for the Lumberjacks.
