BROOKFIELD, Wis. (Civic Media) — Vice President Kamala Harris will join former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney for a moderated conversation in Waukesha County today, as part of a series of events targeting suburban voters in battleground states.

The two appeared together earlier this month at an event in Ripon, where Cheney endorsed the Vice President.

The event today, scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield, marks Harris’ seventh visit to Wisconsin as a presidential candidate.

Former conservative talk show host Charlie Sykes will moderate the discussion between Harris and Cheney, focusing on the alleged risks of a potential second Trump term and Harris’ vision for the country.

The Waukesha County stop is significant, as Democrats have been gaining ground in traditionally Republican suburban areas around Milwaukee. Harris’ campaign sees an opportunity to appeal to moderate Republicans and independents who may be hesitant about supporting former President Donald Trump.

This visit follows Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s appearance at Stein’s Aircraft Services near the Waukesha County Airport yesterday, where he sought to rally religious voters.

Tomorrow, Tim Walz is making a couple of stops around the state, one with former President Barack Obama. They’ll appear together in Madison in the afternoon, with the Minnesota Governor speaking solo in Racine early in the evening.

Tuesday is the first day of early voting in Wisconsin. You can review local and state races with the Civic Media Legislative Guide. For information about early voting, your ballot, and other voting related questions, visit MyVote.WI.Gov.
