Santa Comes to the Winter Farmer’s Market at WI Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis (WFHR/WIRI) – Though the Winter Farmer’s Market at the WI Rapids Moravian Church began its year at the end of October, it still has some surprises in store. Each week a variety of vendors set up their booths to make available food, jewelry, soaps, crafts and many other products. Those who come are met with the smell of coffee and popcorn as Mike Barnes, on behalf of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church, welcomes the public to this seasonal offering.

Santa Comes to the Winter Farmer’s Market

In the past the market has included give-aways and door prizes. A highlight from last year was when Santa came to the Winter Farmer’s Market. He and Mrs. Claus were available to greet and have their pictures taken with visitors to the market. This event will be offered again this year. On December 14 from 9 am – 1 pm comes to the Winter Farmer’s Market again. He and Mrs. Clause will be there  to meet and greet visitors. Use your phone or camera to get your picture with “the right jolly old elf” himself.

History of the Market at the Moravian Church

The Moravian Church began hosting this event in January 2022 when they were approached by the Wisconsin Rapids Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. When the space the market had been using was no longer available, the church researched and approved hosting the market as a community event. Since then between 40-100 people come to check out the offerings of the various vendors.

Opportunities to Participate

The Winter Farmer’s Market is always looking for more vendors to participate. It offers weekly, session and entire season spots. Because of this mix of opportunities, the list of vendors varies each week. If you are interested in a spot at the market you can go to the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church website. Once there, look for the Winter Market under the more tab. You can also check out their Facebook page for more information on which vendors will be there each week.

The Winter’s Farmer Market is held each Saturday from October – May from 9 am – 1 pm. The only exception for those after or during holidays, at the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church, 310 1st Ave. S., Wisconsin Rapids.
