Be Aware of Missing Persons While Deer Hunting
With more people in the woods, there’s a chance you could find evidence to help locate missing persons while deer hunting.
Central Wisconsin (WFHR, WIRI) –While you’re in the woods during hunting season, officials ask that you be on the look-out for missing persons while deer hunting. In Juneau County, they’re asking hunters to keep an eye out for Leya Stewart. She’s been missing since the 4th of July, 2023. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark-colored shorts, and she wasn’t wearing shoes. If you see any signs of disturbance or anything unusual that may aid in locating Leya, you’re asked to contact the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office at 608-847-5649.

The search for a missing woman in Juneau County has extended statewide. Leya Stewart, age 43, has been missing from New Lisbon, Wisconsin since the 4th of July. She was last seen in the Township of Lemonweir. Leya left her cell phone and shoes at a residence before disappearing. Leya Stewart is white with hazel eyes and brown hair. She’s five foot two and 143 pounds. If you have any information, contact the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office.
